Proposal
Regardless of your academic background or major, international students must have a proposal for their graduation thesis, which must be approved by the professor before they can start to write the thesis.
If your proposal is not approved, your supervisor may ask you to change the topic or rewrite it.
Remember, this part is very important! It is the core part of the thesis, so please be careful in choosing the topic. Once you choose a topic wrong, it is the beginning of the thesis tragedy! Communicating with your tutor more often can prevent you from falling into a dead circle.
Literature Review
Literature review (literature review) this part is the key to the thesis, reasonable and clever citation of the literature, is absolutely the key to your high marks.
Research methodology
Regarding the research method, do you use Case study, Survey, or any other method. Think and use carefully, don’t follow the trend blindly, always combine with your thesis and find the most suitable method for you.
Conclusion and Recommendations
It is very important to write the conclusion and recommendations, because some tutors will read the introduction first, and then directly skip this part, and then read the whole paper in detail. If this part of the paper is badly written, it will be a disaster, and the other parts of the paper will be wonderful, but what is the use of it?
02 Dissertation structure
1. Cover Page: i.e. the cover page, containing the title of the dissertation, author’s name, college, number of words, student number, upload time and other information.
2. Declaration: that is, the declaration, the main content is “I declare that all the results, except for those I have annotated, are my own research results, not plagiarised”, followed by the supervisor, signature, college and so on.
3. Acknowledgment: Write the person you want to thank, the supervisor is a must, and then there are all the people who helped to complete this thesis, of course, you can also thank other people, this depends on the individual situation.
03 Key Points to Note
Plagiarism
It is important to know that the study abroad is very strict, so we should not plagiarise when writing the thesis, and the citation should show the source, sometimes it will be taken as plagiarism because of improper application.
Lack of communication with tutors
Very often the topic we formulate by ourselves does not meet the requirements of the tutor, or the title and content of our thesis is not the scope of the teacher’s research, in this process, timely communication with the tutor is particularly important.
From the beginning of the process to the completion of the thesis, it is important that you keep your tutor informed of your progress at every stage, and that you maintain communication at all times, as this will also help to ensure that you get a good grade for your thesis!
Confusing content structure
A dissertation must be clearly structured with detailed and clear content.
If the content of a dissertation is confusing with no articulation and logic, this will give a poor impression to the reviewer, which will directly lead to the failure of your dissertation.
Not enough preliminary research
In order to complete the dissertation writing faster, many students do not set aside enough time to conduct prior research on the relevant topics, and they even have the consciousness to write the dissertation only when the Deadline is about to arrive.
Conducting relevant research halfway through the dissertation is likely to reveal academic opinions that are diametrically opposed to the thesis.
Choose a broad research topic
Broad topics often already have more than sufficient academic research findings, and it can be very difficult to achieve groundbreaking research.
It is not a bad idea to start with a narrower topic, although quite a bit of preliminary research work may be required in the process of finding a topic.
Not meeting the word count
Writing a dissertation also has a high word count requirement, and if you don’t meet it, then your dissertation is essentially passed over as well.
